Calories burned walking calculator

Find out how many calories you burn for Walking, estimate the number of calories burned by the number of KM or miles.

Calculate how many calories you burn if you walk slowly, moderate or fast.

Please remember that a person who wishes to lose 1 kg (2.2 pounds) of weight must burn 7000 calories more than the normal calories consumed

Slow pace walking is around 2.5 mph (24 min pr mile) or 4 km/h (15 minutes per km)

Traveling at around 3.5 mph (17 minutes per mile) or 5.5 km/h (11 min per km) is considered Moderate intensity. Moderate Traveling consumes more calories than slow walking by 50%

Fast and intensive training is above 4 mph (15 minutes per mile) or 6.5 km/h (9 min per km). Training at fast and intensive pace consumes 50% more calories than moderate pace traveling

Training on treadmill has the same calorie impact as traveling outside, but when using incline or decline on your treadmill this changes the calorie consumption (see below).
in this calculator we have provided the ability to change the incline/decline when you use a treadmill, if not, leave it in normal
mode

The calories calculator takes into consideration the grade of the surface that you are on (i.e. the incline or decline of the treadmill).
The incline or decline of the surface is taken into consideration because more calories are burned as the incline of the surface increases, and less calories are burned as the decline of the walking surface decreases.

Calories burned walking a mile

The benefits of walking – it is know to be a very effective sport for men and women want to maintain their diet and lose weight since it enables individuals to burn calories in non extreme ways. Traveling by foot, even at a low intensity, is a great way to get active, burn calories, and start working towards the ultimate goal of losing weight

Researchers found that obese people who walk at a slower pace burn more calories than when they walk at their normal pace. In addition, walking at a slower, 2-mile-per-hour pace reduces the stress on their knee joints by up to 25% compared with going at a brisk 3-mile-per-hour pace. So for obese people power walking is not the best choice.

What is more important for burning calories – increasing the speed or the distance?

Energy used walking = weight x distance (and other factors but those are the most important). Time and speed do not matter as much as distance. If you speed up to a mile in 13 minutes or less, you will be burning more calories per mile. But for most beginning walkers, it is best to increase the distance before working on speed. Incline walking may increase your energy consumption dramatically, so try and walk not on a flat surface on use incline on the treadmill

Do you burn more calories when you walk or run?

Well, it depends, running basically burn more calories than walking, but Increasing in walking speed dramatically raise calorie burn per mile/km as well as per minute. Indeed, at about 12:30 per mile (8km per hour), walking hits a point where it burns about the same calories/mile as running. Walk faster than 12:30 and you will burn more calories/mile than running at 10:00 pace. If you have 30 minutes to exercise you will burn 187 calories walking 4 mph versus burning 365 calories running at 6mph. Walking may burn more fat for fuel, but running burns more total calories which will contribute to greater weight loss.
